CASS Gumnut Early Learning Centre – Hurstville (HELC) is a not-for-profit, community-based long day care centre that has proudly supported families since 1996.

We provide quality education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, and Vacation Care for school-aged children, offering the guidance, care and encouragement they need to learn, grow, and thrive with confidence.

Our centre offers a welcoming and inclusive environment where children flourish within a flexible routine and play-based learning program that supports their overall development. We believe that children learn best through exploration and discovery, and we are committed to helping them build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

At HELC, children enjoy a beautiful outdoor play area, vegetable gardens, and a spacious creative art studio that inspire curiosity, imagination, and a deep connection with nature. These engaging spaces encourage hands-on learning, self-expression, and a sense of belonging.

Our educational programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF v2.0), My Time, Our Place (MTOP v2.0) and the National Quality Framework. Our qualified and experienced educators design programs that recognise and build on each child’s strengths, interests, and cultural identity. We work closely with families to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and supported to reach their full potential.

Our Team

CELC has a dedicated team that includes hands-on management personnel actively involved in the daily operations, as well as highly qualified educators with extensive experience in early childhood education. Our educators deliver tailored lessons aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, fostering a nurturing environment for young children. We believe that each team member brings unique and valuable skills to the centre, and we support one another in achieving our collective goal of providing exceptional service for our children and families.
